Unity is an important theme running through the book of Philippians. We all need each other. Often times evil can seem invincible, but it's when we band together that we, with God's help, can really over come evil. Unity means having the same goal, the same mind, the same spirit working toward the same purpose. When this happens we become unstoppable.
In Philippians 1:27 Paul states, "Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in ONE spirit, contending as ONE man for the faith of the gospel..." [emphasis added]. Paul is encouraging the church in Philippi to come together and be unified. When a community unifies and bands together, they can accomplish awesome things.
Join us tonight as we continue our study Philippians: Putting The Unity Back In Community. We will be focusing on unity and banding together with one spirit, fighting as one to defend the gospel. We will be asking the question, how can we, as Jr. high students who are part of the Crash community, be unified? Be thinking about that question today, and I'll see you tonight (Oh and P.S... Happy St. Patrick's Day).
